dynavoxschallplattencoverstander
Dynavox Record Cover Stand, Solid Beech

The Dynavox record cover stand is a solid beech display stand that presents a single LP or CD cover upright.

An album cover is large-format graphic design, and most of them spend their lives with their back to the wall. This small block of wood changes that for exactly one record: the one that's playing, or the one you want to show off.

Why the cover stand in beech?

Because it's heavy enough for the job. 350 grams of solid, finger-jointed beech sit on a footprint of 90 by 108 millimetres — that doesn't tip over, not even with a gatefold double album. Finger-jointed means several narrow strips of wood are joined into one block; that moves less than a single piece of solid wood and stays straight for years. And because beech has a fine, even grain, the stand doesn't visually compete with the cover it's showing.

What you get

A ready-assembled beech stand you simply slot the cover into. No screws, no instructions, no assembly. 90 millimetres wide, 60 high and 108 deep — small enough to fit on any sideboard, shelf or side table, and heavy enough to stay put there.

Who is the cover stand for?

For anyone who sees their system as part of the décor, not just as technology. Straight talk: this is a display piece with a single job, not a storage system. Anyone planning a whole cover gallery on the wall needs frames or picture rails. And if you're after a foldable, featherlight stand for travel, this isn't it — the weight is the feature here, not the drawback.

Our verdict

One of those products where you briefly wonder if you really need one — and then never put it away again. The cover stand is cleanly made, unobtrusive, and exactly heavy enough for its job. If you drop a record on the platter every evening anyway, this gives it a place.

Technical data

Material: beech, solid and finger-jointed

Dimensions (W × H × D): 90 × 60 × 108 mm

Weight: 350 g

Capacity: 1 LP or CD cover

Assembly: ready-assembled, no assembly required

Scope of delivery: 1 cover stand

Frequently asked questions

Does the stand hold a heavy gatefold double album?

Yes. At 350 grams and with a footprint of 90 by 108 millimetres, it stays stable even under a gatefold cover, as long as the surface underneath is level. On a thick, soft carpet or a sloped surface, any stand will eventually tip — on a sideboard or shelf, that's a non-issue.

Do CDs and digipaks fit too?

Yes, CD cases and digipaks stand in it just as well as a 12-inch LP sleeve. Since the slot is sized for the thicker LP sleeve, a single CD case sits a bit more loosely and leans further back. It still stands stably — but the stand is primarily intended for record covers.

How big can the cover be?

Classic 12-inch LP covers with edges of around 31.5 centimetres are the normal case and fit without issue. The stand supports the cover from below, so the height of the cover doesn't matter. Only very thick box sets with several centimetres of spine thickness should be measured beforehand.

Why buy the Dynavox cover stand at HD Zürisee?

Because small details make up everyday life with a system. HD Zürisee in Wädenswil carries vinyl accessories out of genuine conviction and advises you on the cover stand just as seriously as on the turntable.
