clearaudioturntablekit
Clearaudio Turntable Carekit Professional

The Clearaudio Turntable Carekit Professional is a nine-piece care set for turntables that bundles brushes, cleaning fluids and tools for stylus, record and turntable into one case.

Included are the Pure Groove record brush, the carbon record brush "Doppeldecker", a stylus cleaning brush, the stylus cleaning fluid "Elixir of Sound", a precision aluminium screwdriver, polishing paste, 100 ml of Pure Groove record cleaning fluid, 100 ml of acrylic cleaner and a microfibre cloth.

Why the Carekit Professional?

Because dust is the most expensive guest at your system. On the stylus, frictional heat makes it act like a tiny torch on the diamond; in the groove, it eats away at fine dynamics. Instead of hunting for three little bottles in three drawers, you have everything together here – stylus, record, acrylic surface and even the screwdriver for setup.

What you get

A clean stylus and clean grooves: less distortion, less crackle, more fine dynamics. The acoustic haze you only notice once it's gone, disappears. On top of that, regular care noticeably extends the life of both stylus and record.

Who is the Carekit Professional suited for?

For frequent listeners and collectors who care for their own turntable and don't want to improvise while doing it. Plainly put: the set is extensive – anyone who plays ten records a year is more honestly served with one brush and one bottle of cleaner. And a caution about the fluids: included is Pure Groove, a pure vinyl cleaner. You must not use it on shellac records (78s). Always run the stylus cleaner "Elixir of Sound" from back to front, never sideways – otherwise the cantilever can suffer.

Our verdict

The most complete care package Clearaudio offers, and for a high-quality turntable one of the most sensible purchases there is. If you're unsure which brush is for what, or how often you really need to clean, we'll simply show you at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil.

Technical data

Type: care set for turntables, records and cartridges

Areas of use: stylus cleaning, record cleaning, acrylic care, setup

Fluids included: "Elixir of Sound" stylus cleaner, 100 ml Pure Groove record cleaner, 100 ml acrylic cleaner, polishing paste

Brushes included: Pure Groove record brush, carbon record brush "Doppeldecker", stylus cleaning brush

Tool: precision aluminium screwdriver

Case: transparent plastic case with carry handle

Suitable for: vinyl records and turntables of all makes

Not suitable for: shellac records – the included Pure Groove is a pure vinyl cleaner

Included in delivery: Pure Groove record brush, carbon record brush "Doppeldecker", stylus cleaning brush, "Elixir of Sound", precision aluminium screwdriver, polishing paste, 100 ml Pure Groove, 100 ml acrylic cleaner, microfibre cloth

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is included in the Carekit Professional?

Nine pieces: the Pure Groove record brush, the carbon record brush "Doppeldecker", a stylus cleaning brush, the stylus cleaner "Elixir of Sound", a precision aluminium screwdriver, polishing paste, 100 ml of Pure Groove record cleaning fluid, 100 ml of acrylic cleaner and a microfibre cloth – all in the case.

Can I also use the set for shellac records?

No, at least not the record cleaning fluid. Included is Pure Groove, an alcohol-based vinyl cleaner that attacks shellac made from natural resin. For 78s you additionally need an approved fluid such as Pure Groove Shellac. You can still use the brushes, stylus cleaner and tool from the set.

How do I clean the stylus correctly?

Always from back to front, in the direction of tracking – never sideways and never against the direction of travel, otherwise the cantilever can bend. For the dry routine, use the stylus brush; for stubborn residue, use "Elixir of Sound" sparingly. Less fluid is almost always more here.

Does the set also suit turntables from other brands?

Yes. The brushes, cleaners and screwdriver aren't limited to Clearaudio turntables and work on any turntable with a classic cartridge. The acrylic cleaner is specifically intended for acrylic parts – test it on an inconspicuous spot first on lacquered or veneered surfaces.

Why buy the Clearaudio Turntable Carekit at HD Zürisee?

Because we use the care products ourselves on customers' turntables and show you the moves rather than just describing them – especially with sensitive MC cartridges.
