canton-puro-30-kompaktlautsprecher-schwarz
Canton Puro 30 Compact Speaker, Black (Pair)

The Canton Puro 30 is a passive 2-way compact speaker with a closed cabinet that builds a grown-up sound picture at just 21.5 cm high.

The cabinet cross-section is an ellipse: 14.5 cm wide, only 10 cm deep, a light 2 kg. That means the small column stands on a shelf, on a stand – or hangs, prepared from the factory, directly on the wall. In black silk matt it does exactly what good technology should do in a living room: stay in the background.

Why the Puro 30?

Because small doesn't have to mean thin. A 25 mm aluminium dome tweeter and a 106 mm aluminium woofer/midrange driver work into a closed volume – and closed here means: no reflex port that starts booming near a wall. The bass sets in a little later, but drier and more predictable. Exactly the design you want when the speaker isn't allowed to stand freely in the room, but has to go wherever there's space.

What you hear

Voices sit cleanly in the centre, details stay in place, the bass stays controlled instead of bloated. 45 Hz is an honest statement for this volume – no cinema thunder, but a foundation that carries. As a stereo pair in the living room, at the desk, or as a rear pair in the home cinema.

Who is the Puro 30 suited to?

For anyone who has a living room and not a dedicated listening room. Straight talk: anyone expecting action films with deep bass well below 45 Hz should add a subwoofer, or go straight for the bigger Puro 90 – that's not a weakness of the small box, it's physics. Anyone looking for a speaker that subordinates itself to the decor without giving up on sound is exactly right here.

Our verdict

A design box you don't have to apologise for. The closed cabinet forgives placement, the build quality feels more grown-up than the size suggests – and black silk matt is the finish you'll still like once the flat's been rearranged for the third time.

Technical data

Principle: 2-way, closed cabinet, passive

Drivers: 1× 25 mm tweeter (aluminium), 1× 106 mm woofer/midrange driver (aluminium)

Frequency range: 45–30,000 Hz

Crossover frequency: 3,900 Hz

Power handling (nominal/music): 50 / 120 watts

Impedance: 4–8 ohms

Sensitivity (2.83 V/1 m): 86.5 dB

Connection: Easy-Link terminal

Cabinet: closed, magnetically shielded, prepared for wall mounting

Front cover: grille

Dimensions (W × H × D): 14.5 × 21.5 × 10 cm

Weight: 2 kg each

Finish: Black silk matt

What's included: 2 compact speakers (pair)

Frequently asked questions
<details>
Is the Canton Puro 30 active or passive?

The Puro 30 is a passive speaker. It has no built-in power amp, no Wi-Fi, no Bluetooth and no app – so you need an amplifier or AV receiver alongside it. That's exactly what makes it flexible: you choose the electronics that suit your room and your source.
</details><details>
Is the Puro 30 sold individually or as a pair?

As a pair. The listing covers two Puro 30s – as a stereo pair or as a rear pair in a home cinema. If you need an odd number for a multi-channel setup, just drop us a line. We'll organise the right quantity and make sure the finish matches.
</details><details>
Can the Puro 30 stand close to the wall?

Yes, that's one of its strengths. Because the cabinet is closed and no bass reflex port radiates, the Puro 30 reacts more gracefully to proximity to a wall than an open box. Placement is never entirely without effect, though – a few centimetres of distance and a slight toe-in are still worthwhile.
</details><details>
Does the Puro 30 work as a rear for the Puro 90?

Yes. Both models come from the same series, share the tweeter concept and design language, and combine cleanly into a multi-channel set: Puro 90 at the front, Puro 30 at the rear. Visually it stays of a piece, and vocal reproduction stays consistent across all channels.
</details><details>
Why buy the Canton Puro 30 from HD Zürisee?

Because with compact speakers, placement decides almost as much as the box itself. We at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil sort out room, amplifier and cable with you, deliver on request, and set up with our own technician.
