canton-atelier-inwall-9-c-einbaulautsprecher-weiss
Canton Atelier InWall 9 C Centre Ceiling Speaker, White (Piece)

The Canton Atelier InWall 9 C is a flat 3-way in-wall centre speaker that houses the dialogue channel horizontally in the wall.

It's voiced to match the Atelier InWall 9 fronts and usually sits right beneath the flush-mounted TV. In silk-matte white with a frameless fabric cover, it barely stands out on a light-coloured media wall – at 8.2 cm installation depth, nothing protrudes from the wall.

Why the Atelier InWall 9 C?

Because in film, most of the action runs through the voice. Canton combines a 128 mm aluminium-titanium midrange driver here with its own woofer and two passive radiators – a genuine 3-way system instead of the usual two drivers left and right of the tweeter.

What you hear

Dialogue with body and calm, forming exactly where the picture is. The transition to the InWall 9 fronts stays seamless as sound moves across the screen. And because it radiates horizontally, even the edge of the sofa doesn't sound like half a film.

Who is the Atelier InWall 9 C suited for?

For medium-sized built-in home cinemas, ideally with the Atelier InWall 9 as fronts. Straight talk: if you mainly listen to stereo music, you don't need a centre – better to put that money into the fronts. We tell you honestly which case applies to you.

Our verdict

The logical partner to the InWall 9 fronts and the clean answer to mumbled film dialogue. If you're planning your home cinema structurally, sketch the centre in right away – retrofitting is rarely the nicer option with wall installs.

Technical data

Type: centre in-wall speaker, 3-way bass-reflex system with passive radiators, horizontal (passive)

Drivers: 1× 25 mm aluminium tweeter, 1× 128 mm aluminium-titanium midrange, 1× woofer, 2× passive radiators

Frequency range: 35–40,000 Hz

Crossover frequency: 3,000 Hz

Nominal impedance: 4–8 Ω

Power handling (nominal/music): 120 / 180 W

Sensitivity (2.83 V/1 m): 89.5 dB

Cutout (wall opening): 91 × 20.5 cm (horizontal)

Installation depth: 8.2 cm

Overall size incl. cover (W × H × D): 95 × 24.5 × 8.5 cm

Weight: 8.2 kg

Finish: silk-matte white, frameless fabric cover

Sales unit: 1 piece

Scope of delivery: centre in-wall speaker with frameless fabric cover, mounting set (brackets and screw set)

Frequently asked questions

What wall cutout does the Atelier InWall 9 C need?

Horizontal, 91 × 20.5 cm at 8.2 cm installation depth; with the cover it measures 95 × 24.5 × 8.5 cm. The width usually crosses a stud in drywall that needs replacing. We work through that with you and your tradesperson beforehand.

Where does the centre belong, above or below the TV?

As close as possible to the middle of the picture, in practice usually below the flush-mounted TV. What matters is that voice and picture come from the same direction. We set the exact height based on your seating position and screen size.

Does the installation need a back chamber, insulation or moisture protection?

The InWall 9 C brings its own bass-reflex system and is set into the wall cavity; insulation and sealing depend on the structure. Canton doesn't state moisture-room approval for the Atelier InWall series. Mauri, our technician, assesses your case on site.

Is the Atelier InWall 9 C delivered singly?

Yes, the sales unit is one piece – a home cinema doesn't need more than one centre anyway. You order fronts and rears separately, plus a subwoofer if needed. We put together the complete list for your setup before you order.

Why buy the Canton Atelier InWall 9 C from HD Zürisee?

Because a home cinema consists of matched parts, not individual purchases. HD Zürisee in Wädenswil plans centre, fronts and amplifier together, thinks through the wiring, and handles installation and calibration via Mauri.
