bfly-audio-pure-absorber-set
bFly-Audio Pure Absorber Set – Premium Device Absorbers 4-Pack

The bFly-Audio Pure is a device absorber that decouples HiFi components from vibration through seven coordinated material layers.

Six materials, seven layers, 44 millimeters in diameter – for a component that ultimately just has a device standing on it, that's a surprising amount of effort. And that's exactly the point: each layer targets a different frequency range. At bFly-Audio, the Pure is the bestseller, and the principle behind it is called MLA – Multi Layer Adjustment. You choose the right load capacity and the height (17, 24 or 31 mm) directly here on the page, from Pure-small to Pure-3.

Why the bFly-Audio Pure?

The build from top to bottom, as specified by the manufacturer:

Cork with natural rubber

Solid aluminum body as a separating layer

Cork with natural rubber again

Sorbothane with a parallel air chamber

Special rubber

Aluminum lid

Gel cushion with a defined hardness as the floor contact point

A single damping material can only ever do what it's made for – cork works differently from gel, Sorbothane differently from rubber. Stacking multiple layers therefore works more broadband than any single solution. On top of that, the air chamber next to the Sorbothane pneumatically supports the absorber.

What you get

Four absorbers in a case, available in aluminum silver or black, in five load-capacity levels from Pure-small to Pure-3. You place them under the existing device feet or directly under the base plate – done. It makes sense anywhere mechanics are involved or structure-borne noise travels from furniture into the device:

Turntables and CD players

Amplifiers, DACs, and streamers

Compact speakers on a sideboard or stand

What you get isn't a new tonal color, but more calm in the background: cleaner spatial imaging, more tangible voices, less haze. Described unspectacularly – and that's exactly how it should be.

Who is the Pure for – and who is it not for?

Ideal for anyone who wants to squeeze the last bit of calm and resolution out of an already well-balanced system, especially under source components with a drive mechanism. Bottom line: if you're just starting out, your money is better invested first in speakers, placement, and the room. An absorber refines a good chain; it doesn't repair a weak one. And if your device sits on a wobbly shelf, you solve the problem one level down. If a tube amplifier is part of your setup, also take a look at the Pure-Tube – the same technology, tuned to the higher operating temperatures of tubes.

Our verdict

The Pure is the reference absorber in the bFly lineup: elaborately layered, cleanly built, and still practical for everyday use because it comes as a set of four in a case and sits under your device within minutes. Hand on heart – on a mature system, this is one of the cheapest measures that still moves anything at all. We'll help you work out the right load capacity, height and mounting for your device at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil before you order.

Technical data

Type: Device absorber for mechanical decoupling, MLA technology (Multi Layer Adjustment)

Construction: 6 materials across 7 layers – cork with natural rubber, aluminum body, cork with natural rubber, Sorbothane with a parallel air chamber, special rubber, aluminum lid, gel cushion

Diameter: Pure-small 30 mm · Pure-0 to Pure-3 44 mm

Height: Pure-small fixed at 19 mm · Pure-0 to Pure-3 selectable at 17, 24 or 31 mm – selectable directly here on the page in the «Height & mounting» option (no effect on the sound, no price difference)

Load capacity per absorber: Pure-small up to 5 kg · Pure-0 up to 5 kg · Pure-1 up to 25 kg · Pure-2 up to 45 kg · Pure-3 up to 70 kg

Mounting: without thread (freestanding, height 17, 24 or 31 mm freely selectable) or with M4, M5, M6 or M8 thread (CHF 30 surcharge per set, always at the designated 24 mm height) – all selectable directly here on the page; Pure-small has no threaded option due to its fixed height

Outer material: Aluminum

Colors: Aluminum silver or black

Manufacturer: bFly-Audio

What's included: 4 absorbers in a case, in your chosen color, size, height or thread version

Frequently asked questions

How many absorbers do I need per device?

The Pure comes as a 4-pack in a case – enough for a device with three or four contact points. Distribute the absorbers under the existing device feet or directly under the base plate, so the weight rests evenly on all absorbers and nothing wobbles.

Which Pure variant fits my device?

What matters is the weight per absorber: Pure-small and Pure-0 carry up to 5 kg, Pure-1 up to 25 kg, Pure-2 up to 45 kg, Pure-3 up to 70 kg. Divide your device's weight by the number of contact points and choose the right size directly here on the page.

Which height should I choose: 17, 24 or 31 mm?

The manufacturer recommends placing the Pure directly under the device's base next to the original feet. Choose the height so that the original feet just barely hover – the device then rests exclusively on the absorbers. The height has no effect on the sound and none on the price; it only serves to adapt to your device. It's best to measure the height of your original feet; if in doubt, we're happy to advise you.

Does an absorber under a turntable or CD player really make a difference?

Yes, most noticeably there. Devices with a drive mechanism generate fine vibrations themselves and also pick up structure-borne noise from the furniture. The Pure's seven layers filter more broadband than a single damping material – you hear that as more calm between the notes and cleaner spatial imaging.

Can I also bolt the Pure in place?

Yes, for sizes Pure-0 to Pure-3 you choose in the «Height & mounting» option between the free heights 17, 24, 31 mm and the threaded version M4, M5, M6 or M8 (CHF 30 surcharge per set) – handy if your device already has threaded holes for feet. The threaded version is supplied at the designated 24 mm height. For Pure-small, only the threadless version is available due to its fixed height.

Why buy the bFly-Audio Pure from HD Zürisee?

Because choosing the right load capacity, height and mounting depends on your device – and that's exactly what we work out with you instead of leaving you alone in a jungle of variants.
