sangean-ddr-75bt-internetradio-cd
Sangean DDR-75BT Internet Radio with CD & DAB+

The Sangean DDR-75BT is an internet radio music system with a CD drive that brings DAB+, FM, web radio, Bluetooth and streaming together in one black cabinet.

One box that does almost everything you want from a home music source – and still fits on a sideboard. It needs no extra components: speakers, amplifier, tuner and CD player are all built in.

Why the DDR-75BT?

Because it reconciles yesterday's and today's sources under one lid. You listen to DAB+ and FM, pull in radio stations from around the world over Wi-Fi, play CDs and pair your phone via Bluetooth with NFC – no cable clutter and nobody pushing you towards a subscription. Streaming services such as Spotify are an option, not a requirement.

It also has technology that is rare in compact units: two full-range drivers, two woofers and a dedicated Class-D amplifier for stereo plus bass. With the UNDOK app you control everything from the sofa.

What you hear

For a unit this size the DDR-75BT sounds remarkably grown-up: stereo with extra bass, enough punch for the living room and enough calm for that kitchen-radio feeling in the morning. Several sound presets and a custom EQ for bass, mids and treble let you fine-tune it when your room demands it.

The colour display shows station name, track and artwork instead of cryptic frequencies. If you like, you can record radio programmes straight to an SD card or USB stick – a podcast archive for people who enjoy missing shows.

Who is the DDR-75BT for?

For anyone who wants one good-sounding unit for the living room, office or kitchen and does not want to banish their CD collection to the archive. Plain talk: if you want to build a "proper" hi-fi chain with separate components and floorstanding speakers, an integrated amplifier plus streamer is the better route – we are happy to advise. As an all-in-one, though, the DDR-75BT is a rare combination.

Our verdict

A versatile music system for radio, CD and streaming fans who like things uncomplicated. HD Zürisee in Wädenswil will tell you honestly whether it is enough for your room or whether you should plan something bigger.

Technical data

Type: Internet radio music system with CD player

Tuner: DAB+, FM (RDS), internet radio (dual-band Wi-Fi, LAN), 30 presets

Streaming: Spotify Connect and further streaming services (optional, via UNDOK app)

Bluetooth: 5.0 with NFC (A2DP/AVRCP)

Media: CD/CD-R/CD-RW (audio and MP3), USB, SD card, AUX-in

Recording: Recording to SD card or USB

Speakers: 2 × 3 inch + 2 × 4 inch (bass), Class-D

Output power: 2 × 4 W + 16 W

Connections: AUX-in, line-out, SPDIF-out, headphones, USB, SD, LAN, F-antenna

Output level: Line-out available; the manufacturer does not state a level

Headphone output: yes (headphone jack, 1 mW × 2)

Display: TFT colour display

Clock/alarm: Clock, alarm, snooze and sleep timer

Power supply: AC 100–240 V

Dimensions (W×H×D): 420 × 200 × 279.7 mm

Weight: 9 kg

In the box: Power cord, remote control, antenna

Frequently asked questions

Does the Sangean DDR-75BT have a CD player?

Yes. The DDR-75BT plays audio CDs as well as CD-R and CD-RW discs with MP3 files. USB and an SD card slot take your own music files. That makes it the link between your record shelf and streaming.

Do I need a streaming subscription for the DDR-75BT?

No. DAB+, FM and internet radio work without a subscription, as do CD, USB, SD and Bluetooth. You can add streaming services such as Spotify if you are a customer anyway – they are an option, not a prerequisite for getting music out of the unit.

Can I connect external devices?

Yes. AUX-in takes additional sources, while line-out and the digital SPDIF output pass the signal to an amplifier or DAC. Headphones can be plugged in as well. So the unit grows with you if your system gets bigger later.

Why buy the Sangean DDR-75BT at HD Zürisee?

Because we have lived hi-fi for decades and tell you whether an all-in-one or a small system suits your room better.
