eversolo-dac-z10-dac-kopfhoererverstaerker
Eversolo DAC-Z10 DAC and Headphone Amplifier

The Eversolo DAC-Z10 is a dual-mono DAC with preamp and headphone amplifier that accepts digital sources via USB, coaxial, optical, AES/EBU, I²S, HDMI ARC and Bluetooth and outputs both balanced and unbalanced. It was awarded the EISA DAC 2026–2027.

The DAC-Z10 uses two AKM converters per unit, separate linear power supplies for each channel and an 8.8-inch IPS touchscreen.

Why the DAC-Z10?

Because it takes on the role of DAC, preamp and headphone amplifier in one device. Two AKM converters (AK4191 and AK4499) work in a dual-mono design, and the volume is controlled by an R2R network. The output delivers 5 Vrms via XLR and 2.5 Vrms via RCA. The headphone output is on a 6.3 mm socket with automatic impedance detection for 16 to 300 ohms.

What you hear

The manufacturer specifies THD+N of 0.00008 % and 130 dB dynamic range. That means the converter adds almost nothing to the signal. The EISA award for 2026–2027 speaks for its overall performance. How it sounds in your room is best checked by listening for yourself.

Who is the DAC-Z10 for?

For anyone looking for a high-quality converter with preamp and headphone amplifier who already owns a streamer or transport. Plainly put: the DAC-Z10 is not a streamer, you need a source such as the T8 or T10. If you want everything in one device, look at the DMP models.

Our verdict

The DAC-Z10 is a versatile converter with a preamp that works well as the core of a digital system. With the right source and a power amplifier, you get a coherent system. We are happy to put the combination together for you at HD Zürisee.

Technical data

Device type: DAC with preamp and headphone amplifier, dual-mono

DAC: AKM AK4191 and AK4499, dual-mono

Operational amplifiers: OPA1612

Formats: PCM up to 768 kHz/32 bit, native DSD512 (via I²S)

Digital inputs: USB-B, coaxial 1 and 2, optical 1 and 2, AES/EBU, I²S, HDMI ARC/eARC, Bluetooth 5.0 (AAC, SBC), external clock (10 M/25 M)

Analogue inputs: XLR, RCA

Outputs: XLR, RCA, 6.3 mm headphone socket, trigger output (12 V)

Output level: variable – R2R volume control on the preamp outputs; XLR 5 Vrms, RCA 2.5 Vrms at 0 dBFS; gain switchable in three steps

Headphone output: yes – 6.3 mm jack, automatic impedance detection, 16–300 Ω (output voltage 4 Vrms at low gain, 7 Vrms at high gain)

Distortion (THD+N): 0.00008 %

Dynamic range: 130 dB

Clocking: OCXO with PLL

Display: 8.8-inch IPS touchscreen

Operation: Touchscreen, rotary control, V15 remote control, Eversolo Control app

Award: EISA DAC 2026–2027

Dimensions (W × H × D): 365 × 78 × 310 mm

Weight: 6.5 kg

Included: DAC-Z10, V15 remote control (infrared, rechargeable), USB data cable, power cable, USB stick (firmware upgrade), trigger cable, polishing cloth

Frequently asked questions

Which award has the Eversolo DAC-Z10 received?

The DAC-Z10 was awarded the EISA DAC 2026–2027. EISA is an association of specialist magazines from Europe and beyond. The award does not replace your own listening test, but it helps with orientation.

Does the DAC-Z10 have a headphone output?

Yes, there is a 6.3 mm jack socket on the front with automatic impedance detection. The output is designed for headphones from 16 to 300 ohms. You switch the gain between low, medium and high.

Which inputs does the DAC-Z10 have?

It has USB-B, two coaxial, two optical, AES/EBU, I²S, HDMI ARC/eARC, XLR, RCA and Bluetooth. An external clock can also be fed in. This lets it fit streamers, transports and analogue sources.

Is the DAC-Z10 variable?

Yes, the preamp outputs are controlled by an R2R volume control. So you can connect the DAC-Z10 directly to a power amplifier or active speakers. The gain is switchable in three steps.

Why buy the Eversolo DAC-Z10 at HD Zürisee?

Because we tell you which source and which power amplifier suit the DAC before you buy.
